From Seed Fund to Start-up to Scale-up, SDTC finds, funds and fosters the game changing technologies that are critical in a low-carbon economy. \u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Today Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, announced SDTC\u2019s investment of $24.8 million in nine small businesses across Canada<\/a> that are commercializing solutions to support Canada\u2019s leading industries transition to a low carbon future.<\/p>\n

In Thetford Mines, QC, Sol\u00e9co<\/a>\u00a0has developed a process for converting low value, mixed plastic waste into diesel which diverts difficult to valorize waste plastics from landfills.\u00a0<\/span>KSM Inc.<\/a> \u00a0plans to be the first company to produce high end fertilizers (SOP and SOPM) in Canada made from two abundant Canadian feedstocks (potash and serpentine).<\/p>\n

Inmotive<\/a> of Toronto, ON\u00a0has developed a novel two-speed transmission, called the\u00a0Ingear<\/span>, to improve the powertrain efficiency of passenger electric vehicles, thereby reducing battery energy use per mile driven.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
