To benefit Canadians, our economy and the environment, the Government of Canada is contributing to the development of technologies that lead to less pollution, healthier communities and the creation of well-paying middle-class jobs.<\/p>\n
Today, Denis Paradis, Member of Parliament for Brome-Missisquoi, on behalf of the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development, announced an investment of $2,92 million to develop a gas turbine sensor capable of providing highly accurate, real-time pressure and temperature measurements.<\/p>\n
This investment in Fibos supports the Ultra-High Temperature Optical Pressure Transducers for Gas Turbine Engines development. The technology has the added potential to provide fuel-saving benefits for turbines in both the aviation and power generation industry by leveraging data that enables adaptive control of the turbines.<\/p>\n
This project received funding and support from Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC). SDTC helps Canadian entrepreneurs accelerate the development and deployment of globally competitive clean technology solutions.<\/p>\n
Investments in clean technology are part of the Government\u2019s Innovation and Skills Plan, a multi-year strategy to create well-paying jobs for the middle class and those working hard to join it.<\/p>\n
