From start-up to scale-up, each investment provides the support Canadian companies need to grow a successful sustainable business.<\/em><\/p>\n

As the largest funder of small and medium sized sustainability companies in Canada, Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) has the privilege of seeing firsthand the innovation happening in communities, large and small, across the country.<\/p>\n

Today, SDTC announces an investment of $19.1 million in two Canadian companies: Miovision Technologies<\/a> and KSM Inc.<\/a> These companies are returning to SDTC\u2019s portfolio as they grow and embark on the next stage of their journey to commercialization.<\/p>\n

Based in Kitchener, ON, Miovision Technologies is focused on solving the real-world traffic problems of today and tomorrow. Miovision has secured scale-up funding of $16.6M to develop an intelligent traffic management solution that will enabling automatic traffic signal timing optimization and full remote access and control.<\/p>\n

Miovision\u2019s digital intersection will enable the use of sensors and AI modeling to monitor and optimize traffic signals to decrease congestion and environmental impacts due to vehicle emissions.<\/p>\n

KSM Inc. is a leader in the circular economy. Using mining residue, KSM is producing a sustainable fertilizer through a low energy process. KSM\u2019s high-end fertilizers have less impact on the soil, producing healthier crops and improved crop yields. KSM is receiving $2.5M to enhance their production capacity in Thetford Mines, QC.<\/p>\n

The companies SDTC funds are generating economic benefits in the communities in which they live, creating highly skilled jobs and offering alternative solutions that are not only more sustainable, but also more cost-effective and more energy-efficient.<\/p>\n

From seed to start up to scale up, SDTC is supporting Canadian entrepreneurs throughout their entire journey to commercialization. For Canada to meet the challenge of Net Zero and become a global market leader in sustainable technologies, no matter how great the invention may be, if it doesn\u2019t deploy, it doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n
